Time Management and Library Orientation

A session on Time Management and Library Orientation was held on 5 February 2021. The Time Management talk was delivered by Namita Mukherjee who gave a brief on how students can schedule work and effectively make use of their time. Her main goal in this session was to motivate students to go early to bed, wake up early, make a routine and analyze the tasks to be accomplished as these were some scientifically proven methods to make one efficient. She talked about the need of prioritizing work and how one must target the important tasks first. She recommended making a prioritized task list for the day and following your sequence. This will help us be productive and save us time as well.  Planning should be one of the first things you should do every day. Planning your work even though it might seem time-consuming would help in accomplishing the tasks on time.  If a person does it effectively, they can reduce much of the necessary time and effort of achieving the goal. A plan is like a map which would help us reach our destination on time.  She concluded on the note that balancing college life and spending time with family is equally important. To motivate the students she even gave examples of well-known and successful personalities like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett who follow a similar lifestyle.
It was followed by library orientation which was delivered by Mr Sreekumar who gave a brief overview on how the library resources can be used effectively in remote access as well. He demonstrated the library resources which are available for free for all the course and told its importance. Databases provide quick access to information on the Web, such as newspaper, magazine articles, biographies, books reviews, images and more. He explained about the databases such as JSTOR, ProQuest Central and E-Books. He also mentioned the most useful books from Cambridge, Oxford and Wiley which could be used by students. Students were encouraged to make the most out of the free resources provided to them
